Ontario Nexus Academy (ONA) provides educational programs based on the Ontario curriculum, combining academic expectations with the flexibility of online learning.

Our learning community includes students in Ontario, across Canada, and internationally. We recognize that students have different backgrounds, strengths and goals, and we aim to support their individual educational journeys.

Through qualified teachers, a structured digital learning environment, ongoing assessment and academic guidance, ONA encourages students to develop knowledge, confidence, responsibility and independence.

Ontario Nexus Academy supports students through elementary and secondary education, with academic planning for their future pathways.

Grades 1–8

Elementary Education

Foundational learning based on the Ontario curriculum, supporting literacy, numeracy, inquiry, creativity and personal development.

Grades 9–12

Secondary Education

Ontario secondary school credit courses designed to develop academic knowledge, skills and readiness for future education and careers.

Postsecondary Pathways

OSSD & Future Planning

Guidance with Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements, course planning and preparation for university, college or other postsecondary destinations.

Our Learning Approach

Flexible Learning. Meaningful Support.

ONA uses Moodle as its Learning Management System to provide course materials, assignments, teacher feedback and academic progress information.

Our learning approach combines independent online activities with teacher communication, scheduled instruction and academic support.

Independent Study

Students complete structured online learning activities with scheduling flexibility, while meeting course deadlines, assessment, engagement and teacher-support requirements.

Live Guided Learning

Students benefit from scheduled live teacher-led instruction, opportunities for discussion, academic guidance and ongoing feedback.

Our Academic Expectations

The 2026–2027 Course Calendar outlines meaningful weekly learning engagement and a scheduled teacher-led video conference for each enrolled course, unless excused under school policy.

With over 31 years of experience in Canadian and international education, Mohamed Faizalla has worked in teaching, school administration and senior academic leadership.

His professional experience includes Head Teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, Director of Academics and Chief Academic Officer.

His leadership approach emphasizes academic standards, educational accessibility and meaningful opportunities for student success.
