About Ontario Nexus Academy
Ontario Nexus Academy (ONA) is a fully online, authorized by the Ontario Ministry of Education (BSID 666625) to grant credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) private high school offering the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) to students in Canada and around the world. Founded in 2025, ONA was created with one clear goal: to provide equitable access to world-class Canadian education, regardless of geography, nationality, or background.

Our student body spans more than 22 nationalities. We serve students who live in major cities and remote communities alike. Our flexible platform, Moodle, allows students to learn at their own pace or participate in weekly live classes. Every student is assigned a dedicated guidance counsellor who provides one-on-one academic support, creates a customized study plan, and assists with university applications in Ontario and abroad.

ONA was founded by Mo Faizalla, a Canadian educational leader with over 31 years of experience as a teacher, head teacher, vice principal, principal, chief academic officer, and college manager. His international leadership experience and commitment to accessible education continue to shape the vision and values of the academy.

ONA is not just a school—it’s a global learning hub where students from all walks of life come together to pursue their goals, gain real academic confidence, and prepare for university success.

🌟 Vision Statement

At Ontario Nexus Academy, we envision a world where every student—regardless of nationality, location, or circumstance—can access high-quality, future-ready education rooted in the values and standards of the Ontario curriculum. Our goal is to become a trusted global hub for Canadian online education—one that empowers students with the skills, mindset, and academic foundation needed to succeed in university and beyond.

We believe that a student’s potential should never be limited by geography, economic status, or systemic barriers. That’s why our model is built around inclusivity and access. Whether a student lives in downtown Toronto or a rural village in North Africa, whether they’re studying at home or balancing work with education—Ontario Nexus Academy is built to meet them where they are.

We are not just delivering content. We are building futures.

We see technology as a bridge—not a substitute—for meaningful learning. Through our online platform, Moodle, we deliver structured, authorized by the Ontario Ministry of Education (BSID 666625) to grant credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) Ontario credit courses that are rich with lessons, videos, assessments, and built-in teacher feedback. Students have the option to learn independently or through weekly live video sessions with Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT). This flexibility ensures that every student can choose the path that best suits their learning style, schedule, and level of independence.

We also recognize that success requires more than good teaching. It requires guidance. That’s why every student at ONA is paired with a guidance counsellor who supports their progress from the day they enroll until the day they graduate. Our vision is rooted in personal connection, mentorship, and strategic academic planning.

Ontario Nexus Academy is committed to innovation, academic rigor, and global citizenship. We integrate real-world applications into every subject. We teach students how to think critically, collaborate digitally, and express themselves with clarity and purpose. Whether a student dreams of becoming an engineer, doctor, artist, or entrepreneur, our vision is to support that dream with the structure and freedom needed to make it real.

We are building more than a school. We are building a movement for accessible, high-quality, Ontario education—available to every learner, anywhere in the world.

🎯 Mission Statement

The mission of Ontario Nexus Academy is to make Ontario’s world-class education accessible to students across the globe through innovative, flexible, and personalized online learning. We are committed to delivering the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) in a way that empowers learners—no matter their location, background, or academic journey.

At ONA, we believe that every student can succeed if they receive the right support. That belief drives every aspect of our operations—from how we design our courses, to how we train our teachers, to how we guide students toward university and career readiness.

We deliver a fully recognized Ontario education aligned with the Ministry of Education curriculum. All our courses are hosted on the powerful Moodle platform, giving students 24/7 access to structured lessons, videos, assignments, and interactive assessments. For those who need more structure, we offer weekly live guided sessions—approximately four video meetings per week—led by Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) who hold at least a Master’s degree.

But delivering content isn’t enough. That’s why every ONA student is assigned a dedicated guidance counsellor. From the moment of enrollment, the counsellor becomes the student’s academic advisor, creating a personalized study plan based on their goals and their intended university or college major. The counsellor supports course selection, monitors credit completion, and provides support throughout the university application process, including assistance with OUAC and OCAS systems.

Another key part of our mission is academic flexibility. Through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), we recognize and validate previous academic work from other educational systems. Students can transfer into the Ontario system at any grade level, including those who have already completed Grade 12 in another system. In many cases, these students can graduate with an OSSD in 6 to 12 months and access Canadian university programs as Ontario graduates.

We also integrate real-world relevance into everything we teach. Our courses emphasize critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy. We believe in assessment for learning, not just of learning—our 70/30 grading model rewards consistent effort and engagement, reducing the pressure of standardized testing and creating space for deeper understanding.

Our mission is not only to prepare students for post-secondary education, but to equip them for life. Whether they go on to study engineering, medicine, law, business, or the arts, our graduates leave with confidence, academic fluency, and global perspective.

Ontario Nexus Academy is here to help students cross boundaries—both literal and academic—and to reach their highest potential through the power of Ontario education.
